Mallory and Tony’s Orlando Wedding

Pine Castle’s First Baptist Church was all a buzz December 5th. It had been many many years since a member of this very old Orlando church, built in 1896, got married in the church. The entire congregation was invited to attend Mallory (Bitterman) and Tony Bryant’s beautiful December wedding. A friend’s advice to Mallory for the big day, ” choose a beautiful dress and an excellent photographer ” She chose us, what an honor!! The newlyweds are now expecting in August and we wish them all the best! Oh, and did you see the cake, exactly what Mallory always wanted, a donut cake, yummy!!

Naomi and Ricky’s Orlando wedding at Eagle Creek Golf Club

A few months ago we shot a beautiful wedding at Lake Nona’s Eagle Creek Golf Club. Naomie and Ricky are such an incredible couple…kind, caring, thoughtful, sweet and smart. Naomie has no idea just how beautiful she is both inside and out! And what a sweet and handsome groom Ricky was…they are a perfect match for each other. Stan and I were treated like family. There are 5 sisters and 1 brother in Naomie’s family and we’ve already had the honor of photographing Ruth’s wedding to Daniel last year and can’t wait to photograph Kenny, Esther, Dyna and maybe even Nephthali’s wedding in the future! Everything about Naomie and Ricky’s Orlando wedding was perfect, especially the romantic ceremony that started with Naomie’s arrival on a horse drawn carriage. The party was so hot that the Orange County Fire Department showed up to cool it down ( the smoke bombs set off by the DJ set off all of the fire alarms bringing out the fire department! ) Naomie & Ricky, you’re both guaranteed a life time of happiness and love with each other and we consider ourselves honored to have been a part of your special day, congratulations!!!

Arden’s Orlando Bat Mitzvah

0413Wedding Photography keeps us busy but so do Bar & Bat Mitzvahs. The two of course are very different, but also very similar. The planning, the details, the decorations, the dress or suit, the food , the DJ, decisions decisions. All hopefully to come together perfectly to celebrate a right of passage in a young persons life. Our challenges, regardless of the event, remains the same… Capture the occasion with traditional and candid images. Here are a few from Arden’s Orlando Bat Mitzvah held at Ohev Shalom and The Altamonte Hilton. Congratulations to a beautiful, smart, sweet and fun young lady .

Barbara and Tim’s Orlando Wedding Photography, and Rain!

The pressure was on photographing Barbara (Alexander) and Tim Lightfoot’s wedding this past September at First Baptist Church of Orlando with a reception at the Orlando Country Club. Barbara, the bride, is the Director of a major global event planning company and knows her stuff — her honeymoon was postponed to handle a meeting with Ex-President Bill Clinton!

So… Of course we wanted everything to run smoothly right?!? But did it? Of course not! The major interfering factor in all Florida weddings reared its ugly head…rain, rain and more rain! I normally talk about my couples in my blogs, but not this time. I’m going to talk about my amazing husband. I cannot praise Stan enough for what he manages to pull off when it seems all the odds are stacked against us. I cannot shoot a wedding without him. He is far more talented than I am. He sees the light that is so key to great pictures. He sees the background, the foreground, the possibilities that I do not.

He pulls off amazing shots in ridiculously cramped impossible spaces. And when I start to panic because I’m focusing on what we can’t do, he calms me down and shows me what we can do. He saves the day each and every time we are up against bad weather, delays, ugly locations, darkness, technical problems…you name it, the man can shoot incredible pictures in it! I would never ever shoot a wedding without him! He can shoot without me (I might send him with 10 pages of notes, LOL!) but I cannot, would not, shoot anything without him by my side.

So, Barbara and Tim, your wedding images are a direct result of my husband’s talent, and we both wish you a long and happy life together!

Orlando wedding photographers: Rosen Shingle Creek

After dating for 2 years with a 15 month engagement, Christine Barnette and Todd Robbins chose Rosen Shingle Creek for their February 21st wedding. A beautiful location for a gorgeous couple! Todd was so handsome and Christine was just gorgeous in her Paloma Blanca dress from The Collection.

The color was cream, the fabric lace and silk, with a striking beaded sash across the waist. M3 Makeup Services did a great job with Christine’s hair and makeup, completing the image of the beautiful bride! Todd and Christine’s color scheme was cobalt blue and white with pops of silver, beautifully accomplished in her bouquet done by Lee Forest Design. Their friends and family were a fun group and the celebrations continued for hours with music provided by Junction 88 Productions.

“Our favorite memory of our wedding day was sitting down at our sweet heart table after our first dance. With everything that goes on during a wedding day this was a time when we could just sit relax and take in everything, really be in the moment and our favorite experience working with S&S would be the way you captured us smiling. We are generally smiling happy people, but for some reason as soon as that camera comes out our smiles run and hide. S & S did a wonderful job of capturing what most cameras cannot.”

Congratulations Todd and Christine and thank you for allowing S & S to be a part of such a momentous occasion in your lives!

Winter Park Farmer’s Market Wedding Photographers

Samantha and Josh definitely are one of the most unconventional couples we’ve had the pleasure of working for! After experiencing many life changing moments together like the birth of their son Jagger, buying a new home together, and being together for 9 yrs, marriage was not a priority says Sam. But, when Josh did propose, Sam says “It was on!”

They chose the Winter Park Farmers Market for both the ceremony and reception, and then the dress shopping began. Sam and her Maid of Honor Amanda headed to Bloomingdales where Sam saw, and urged by Amanda tried on, a beautiful blue dress. When she saw it she thought, “OMG that dress is beautiful!” But is was blue…so the search continued.

On another day, with Mom in tow, Sam tried on many traditional white, beige and blush dresses, but none was just right. Back at Bloomingdales they headed, where Amanda snuck in, amidst the traditional dresses, the blue one. That blue dress was the last dress Sam tried on and when her and her Mom both began to cry she knew it was THE ONE!

“It was the first I ever tried on and it became the last. I felt like myself in it!” Sam’s theme was vintage, rustic chic…very simple and relaxed. Her hair was classic vintage, and she choose a stunning diamond headband to complement and not overpower her hairstyle and dress.

Hairstylists Carrie Brown and Danielle Watkins at www.beautyagogofl.com did a beautiful job!

“What I loved most about S & S Photography is that their personalities were so amazing. Charlene and Stan were able to capture some of the most amazing moments during the wedding that I will always have! I am grateful to them for making our pictures amazing!”

Destination Wedding Photography with Daniel and Ashlee

Daniel and Ashlee Cueto’s love story began in 2007 when they worked together at a wine bar…our love story with this family began when we photographed Daniel’s twin sisters wedding several years ago in Cocoa Beach. Laura married Matt Pepin and has sent us so many beautiful brides that this blog wouldn’t be fair without a huge shout out and THANK YOU to her and her amazing family, which has grown with the addition of their beautiful baby girl Julianna!

Danny fell in love with the beautiful Ashlee and decided to propose one casual Saturday afternoon in Denver, where the couple lives. During a game of Battleship Danny suggested that his next move would be “be mine” and he held up the ring over the board game! They picked the ring setting together and settled on a halo with a plain band and small diamonds around the cushion cut center stone, all of which were dipped in black rhodium.

Next came a dress shopping trip to Florida where Ashlee’s entourage included her Mom, Dad, Step Mom, step sister and her future Mother and Father in law! The 2nd dress tried on was the winner, a leaf shaped light lace dress with a pink sash. Her stunning 8 ft veil with crystals scattered at the bottom was loans to her by her best friend Mallory…the perfect touch of drama to her simply elegant dress.

Ashlee chose a pink and grey theme because she loves pink, and Daniel being color blind can only see the color grey. Since both families lived in Florida they chose Out of the Blue Celebrations in Jupiter for their ceremony and reception, on the only available date left for spring, April 18th. As Ashlee said “We aren’t super serious people so we wanted the ceremony to be fun,” which it was!

Ashlee’s God Mother Aunt Jeanne performed the personal, light-hearted ceremony, at the end of which she took out an aluminum made wand and blessed the happy couple. Everyone was laughing and smiling! Ashlee and Daniel’s evening was “amazing and we had a great time. We laughed, cried a little, and danced!”

The perfect day for the perfect couple….congratulations Ashlee and Daniel and THANK YOU for having Stan and I be the ones to capture your special day!!

Orlando Wedding Photography at Metro West Golf Club

When Ana and Luis Ferreira chose Orlando’s Metro West Golf Club for their Florida outdoor destination wedding ceremony they didn’t realize just how much of an imposing element our Central Florida weather can be.

After months and months of preparations Mother Nature had her say and down came the rain, naturally just as Ana got her dress on for pictures! 2 1/2 hours later, still raining! With a positive attitude and taking it all in stride this wonderful couple stalled…and stalled…and stalled….

After little over an hour’s delay the clouds parted, the rain stopped, the chairs were dried and much to the delight of everyone the ceremony took place as planned, outside on the beautiful greens of Metro West. Someone put in a good word that’s for sure as the rains came pouring down again just as we finished with all of their group pictures and romantic pictures!!

A huge shout out to the excellent staff at Metro West, under the expert leadership of Francine Burruezo for handling the situation beautifully…dinner was delicious!! All of the vendors at this event pulled together to make Ana and Luis’s day work out wonderfully in spite of the rain. Congratulations to a gorgeous, smart and super sweet couple!

Ruth & Daniel’s Princess Wedding

In 2005 Ruth Cherubin and her family left Haiti for Florida and it wasn’t too long before she met and fell in love with her Prince Charming, Daniel Uva. Ruth picked the first dress she tried on at David’s Bridal! In her words it was “the only one I could see myself walking down the aisle to Daniel.”

Her choice of a Princess/ Cinderella type dress was perfect as she always “thinks of her husband as Price Charming” and he certainly looked the part in his classic, elegant black tux. The couple’s color scheme centered around Ruth’s love for the color red which to her represents passion and romance. The champagne accents represent elegance and class, two colors that represent the love they share and the fact that they are each other’s first love.

Love runs strong and true in Ruth’s family. Her parents flew in Pastor Raymond Brinks to perform the March 6th ceremony at Mystic Dunes…the same Pastor that married her parents in 1984! We wish this smart and beautiful couple a lifetime of happiness!

Annie & Marc’s wedding at The Tides

WOW! We loved, loved, loved the colors at Annie and Marc Butlers wedding at The Tides at PAFB! Orange, charcoal and white was the couple’s color scheme with hints of starfish. Annie’s flowers were just beautiful, a combination of gerbera daisies, lilies, roses, dahlias and pincushion protea from Kelly Shannon Florist in Orlando. Their delicious main cake and center table cakes were from the Publix bakery in Cocoa Beach. Annie was just stunning in her delicate lace dress and I loved her decision to be comfortable and wear orange crocheted TOMs Shoes. Marc was very handsome in his linen suit with a checkered orange tie and boutonniere and boat shoes. All together this was a strikingly beautiful wedding with a gorgeous couple and we wish them many years of love and happiness!
