The Ballroom at Church Street: Brandy and Dave’s Wedding

Ballroom at Church Street Wedding

Brandy and Dave met working aboard the Disney Fantasy Cruise ship in 2013. Brandy worked with the cruise staff team while Dave worked on the ship wide tech team. After nearly 4 years of sailing the seven seas with Mickey Mouse, the two lovebirds decided it was time to start a life together on land, in far away New Zealand. For Brandy’s 28th birthday Dave surprised her with a fantastic trip to the Bay of Islands and Cape Reinga, the northern most point of New Zealand. It was here, overlooking the ocean, on the last day of their trip, that Dave got down on one knee and popped the question. Brandy of course said “yes!” and the excitement of planning their September 22 nd wedding began.

When planning their wedding Brandy and Dave wanted a theme that reflected their life together thus far. They loved traveling, and decided to go with a vintage travel theme to match the grandeur feeling of the Ballroom at Church Street Station in downtown Orlando. Each table was themed around a different city in the world that they had visited together and of course they had to incorporate , at the head table no less, the Disney Fantasy Ship where they met. A ” Where in the world are you sitting? ” map directed guests to which city in the world they would be sitting and dining at. Party favors included a delicious candy station which included many different treats from the U.S , the U.K and New Zealand. A nice personal touch were the added photographs of each of their grandparents, on their wedding days ,which added the perfect vintage touch to their Ballroom at Church Street Wedding.

Since Brandy and Dave are from two different countries the most important thing they wanted to make sure happened on their wedding day was getting their friends and families together, allowing everyone to get to know each other. Their guests came all the way to Orlando from Australia, the United Kingdom and Switzerland to celebrate with them, and celebrate they did with delicious food, lively dancing and drinking all night long until their fiery sparkler departure. Their Ballroom at Church Street Station Wedding was a huge success, that brought together 2 families, and 2 different cultures.

All wedding days are a blur but no one will forget the epic Maid of Honors ” rap speech ” nor the fun father/daughter mash up dance Brandy did with her dad. Dave’s fondest memory was the tender and sweet dance with his grandmother to her favorite song. Congratulations Brandy and Dave, your wedding was great fun and S&S wishes you both many many years of happiness together!!

Pensacola Wedding Photography

Adam and Tiffany chose their old college stomping grounds for their wedding this weekend in Pensacola and we are so honored to have been brought in to cover the event. We shoot primarily Central Florida weddings but have now covered all corners of the state, from Jacksonville down to the Keys, Sarasota over to Cocoa , and now beautiful Pensacola. Although it was quite a drive we have travelled further…Tucson AZ, North Carolina, Trinidad and even South Africa! This weekend Stan and I travelled almost 1000 miles and enjoyed every minute of it…did I mention that we left 3 kids behind…perhaps part of the reason we had such a good time, seems breaks from parenting are quite refreshing! We had a fun group to work with, a beautiful couple, lovely location and soft afternoon light. We even enjoyed a side trip on our way home to see Florida’s only caves at the Caverns State Pk in Marianna. Thanks for choosing Stan and I to be your Pensacola wedding photographers Tiffany and Adam, congratulations and many long years of happiness to you both!

Scott & Mary Beth’s beautiful wedding

Scott and Mary Beth’s relationship has been an uphill battle since the beginning.

A few days before their first date, Scott committed to serving with the United States Army. They dated for the four months prior to him leaving for boot camp in Oklahoma. After that, their only correspondence was through letters, as he wasn’t even allowed to use a phone during this time, let alone come home for a visit. Mary Beth is a middle school teacher for OCPS, and Scott is now stationed in Ft.Lewis, Washington, about 3.000 miles away. He is a Specialist with the C Co 702d BSB 4th Brigade 2nd Infantry Division.

During Scott’s first Christmas in Washington, he proposed to Mary Beth with a hand crafted ring he designed with the help of Plantation Jewelers in Winter Garden. Wanting a ring that would be special and unique, for his bride-to-be, Scott worked diligently with the jeweler through emails and phone calls. Those of you who have seen the ring, know the results were superb!

Mary Beth found her dress, perfect in both simplicity and elegance, at Dillards Department Store. Dresses for the bridesmaids and flower girls came from David’s Bridal in Altamonte Springs. The beautiful flower bouquets and table arrangements were designed by Jonathan’s Flowers of Winter Park. Actually, Jonathan is the person who suggested that we consider using S&S Photography for our pictures. As I perused their website, I was instantly “hooked” with the gorgeous and creative photos that Charlene and Stan had taken at other events. At our very first meeting, I was extremely impressed by Charlene’s professionalism and charming personality. Also, she and Stan were most accommodating with our sensitive situation, due to the possibility of Scott being deployed.

The day of the wedding began and continued with cloudy and rainy skies. Needless to say, we had to “change horses in midstream” and move an outdoor wedding to an inside location. Working to make sure things ran smoothly, these photographers took all this in stride, so there was no added stress on bride and groom. Charlene and Stan, through their unique and innovative photography, have helped to make incredible wedding memories for us for years to come.

Matt & Rebecca’s beautiful Disney wedding

Gorgeous is gorgeous and that is exactly how Rebecca looked in her blush ballgown by Katerina Bocci, which she purchased at The Collection in Winter Park. A dress like that deserved a stunning location, which is exactly what Disney’s Wedding Pavilion and the Grand Floridian are, just stunning. Nothing out of place, not a flower our of bloom, not a piece of trash on the ground, and everything perfectly timed. Can you imagine, a photographers dream….. a beautiful bride , in a gorgeous dress, with a handsome groom, at a stunning location!

The love this couple has for each other is obvious, you could just see it in their eyes. They are so sweet. We had a great group to work with, and thank you to all who helped, from the Disney Team to the Maid of Honor, a past bride of ours (Katie and Park), to Laura with Disney Floral.

A fun time was had by all with the fabulous Buzzcatz band performing snappy tunes that had the guests on the dance floor all night long! Congratulations Matt and Rebecca! We wish you a long and happy life together!
