Lange Farm Wedding

Lange Farm has acres of sweeping views that embraces a rustic country charm making it a wonderful setting for Central Florida weddings. Megan and Nick chose the seclusion of Lange Farm, just 30 minutes outside of Tampa, for their Central Florida wedding ceremony and reception. With over 80 acres Lange Farm embraces nature and pushes the hustle and bustle of daily life aside and allows its guests to relax and enjoy the surrounding scenery. As photographers Stan and I welcome the opportunity to travel to beautiful locations like Lange Farm…every direction we turn is another beautiful backdrop of scenery for beautiful wedding photographs. Congratulations Megan and Nick, thanks for choosing S & S!

Pensacola Wedding Photography

Adam and Tiffany chose their old college stomping grounds for their wedding this weekend in Pensacola and we are so honored to have been brought in to cover the event. We shoot primarily Central Florida weddings but have now covered all corners of the state, from Jacksonville down to the Keys, Sarasota over to Cocoa , and now beautiful Pensacola. Although it was quite a drive we have travelled further…Tucson AZ, North Carolina, Trinidad and even South Africa! This weekend Stan and I travelled almost 1000 miles and enjoyed every minute of it…did I mention that we left 3 kids behind…perhaps part of the reason we had such a good time, seems breaks from parenting are quite refreshing! We had a fun group to work with, a beautiful couple, lovely location and soft afternoon light. We even enjoyed a side trip on our way home to see Florida’s only caves at the Caverns State Pk in Marianna. Thanks for choosing Stan and I to be your Pensacola wedding photographers Tiffany and Adam, congratulations and many long years of happiness to you both!

Barbara and Tim’s Orlando Wedding Photography, and Rain!

The pressure was on photographing Barbara (Alexander) and Tim Lightfoot’s wedding this past September at First Baptist Church of Orlando with a reception at the Orlando Country Club. Barbara, the bride, is the Director of a major global event planning company and knows her stuff — her honeymoon was postponed to handle a meeting with Ex-President Bill Clinton!

So… Of course we wanted everything to run smoothly right?!? But did it? Of course not! The major interfering factor in all Florida weddings reared its ugly head…rain, rain and more rain! I normally talk about my couples in my blogs, but not this time. I’m going to talk about my amazing husband. I cannot praise Stan enough for what he manages to pull off when it seems all the odds are stacked against us. I cannot shoot a wedding without him. He is far more talented than I am. He sees the light that is so key to great pictures. He sees the background, the foreground, the possibilities that I do not.

He pulls off amazing shots in ridiculously cramped impossible spaces. And when I start to panic because I’m focusing on what we can’t do, he calms me down and shows me what we can do. He saves the day each and every time we are up against bad weather, delays, ugly locations, darkness, technical problems…you name it, the man can shoot incredible pictures in it! I would never ever shoot a wedding without him! He can shoot without me (I might send him with 10 pages of notes, LOL!) but I cannot, would not, shoot anything without him by my side.

So, Barbara and Tim, your wedding images are a direct result of my husband’s talent, and we both wish you a long and happy life together!

Orlando wedding photographers: Rosen Shingle Creek

After dating for 2 years with a 15 month engagement, Christine Barnette and Todd Robbins chose Rosen Shingle Creek for their February 21st wedding. A beautiful location for a gorgeous couple! Todd was so handsome and Christine was just gorgeous in her Paloma Blanca dress from The Collection.

The color was cream, the fabric lace and silk, with a striking beaded sash across the waist. M3 Makeup Services did a great job with Christine’s hair and makeup, completing the image of the beautiful bride! Todd and Christine’s color scheme was cobalt blue and white with pops of silver, beautifully accomplished in her bouquet done by Lee Forest Design. Their friends and family were a fun group and the celebrations continued for hours with music provided by Junction 88 Productions.

“Our favorite memory of our wedding day was sitting down at our sweet heart table after our first dance. With everything that goes on during a wedding day this was a time when we could just sit relax and take in everything, really be in the moment and our favorite experience working with S&S would be the way you captured us smiling. We are generally smiling happy people, but for some reason as soon as that camera comes out our smiles run and hide. S & S did a wonderful job of capturing what most cameras cannot.”

Congratulations Todd and Christine and thank you for allowing S & S to be a part of such a momentous occasion in your lives!

Annie & Marc’s wedding at The Tides

WOW! We loved, loved, loved the colors at Annie and Marc Butlers wedding at The Tides at PAFB! Orange, charcoal and white was the couple’s color scheme with hints of starfish. Annie’s flowers were just beautiful, a combination of gerbera daisies, lilies, roses, dahlias and pincushion protea from Kelly Shannon Florist in Orlando. Their delicious main cake and center table cakes were from the Publix bakery in Cocoa Beach. Annie was just stunning in her delicate lace dress and I loved her decision to be comfortable and wear orange crocheted TOMs Shoes. Marc was very handsome in his linen suit with a checkered orange tie and boutonniere and boat shoes. All together this was a strikingly beautiful wedding with a gorgeous couple and we wish them many years of love and happiness!

Kerry and Ryan marry in Winter Park | Winter Park Photography

Meet Kerry and Ryan Hegenauer who flew in from Michigan to get married at Uncle Dexter’s house in Winter Pk…yup, THE Dexter of the well established restaurant Dexters of Winter Park. Not only did we get to meet some wonderfully funny people but of course we enjoyed a delicious dinner! Ryan and Kerry are a photography team just like Stan and myself. We had so much fun working with them , sharing experiences, knowledge and stories ! Beverly Neal of Dimensions Photography was my mentor. An amazing, self taught woman who knew her s—!

She encouraged me, advised me, taught me and pushed me to challenge myself, think outside the box, and it’s HER that gave me the confidence to be a wedding photographer. I can’t thank her enough for her kindness , and I finally got a chance to repay it and do a little mentoring back. We sure felt appreciated by Ryan and Kerry! They will no doubt be a hugely successful team, both as photographers and husband and wife.

Here are a few of Ryan’s favorite shots, mixed in with one or two of mine….Congratulations to a special couple and thank you for choosing S & S to be a part of your very special day!

Beautiful Orlando wedding photography for Jenny & Darrell

It’s not often that I have a groom contact and inquire about our service, but that is how I met Darrell. He took on the challenge of finding a wedding photographer, and found us. So, let me introduce you to another one of our sweet and totally in love couples. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Darrell and Jeniffer Christmas. Yes, it’s correct, the newlyweds are mr and mrs CHRISTMAS!! Love it!! The ceremony was at St. Mary Magdaline , and the reception at Leu Gardens back in April. We had a lot of fun at this reception, a good crowd with a lot of happy friendly people all celebrating the newlyweds love for each other. Congratulations Darrell and Jenny!

Sean & Ashley’s Buena Vista Palace wedding

After 3 1/2 years together Sean and Ashley tied the knot on January 4th at the Buena Vista Palace in Orlando. Sean proposed to Ashley 2 years ago at a romantic dinner on a visit back to his hometown of New Orleans. Ashley of course said “YES” and we wish this really kind and sweet couple all the best in their new life together.

I asked Ashley what her favorite memory was from her wedding day and she said it was seeing her husband for the first time as her Dad walked her down the aisle. The day was wet, cold and rainy! The outside gazebo ceremony scrapped for a quick change to inside. Not what Ashley and Sean had pictured for their big day. The unpredictable Florida weather did nothing to damper this couples spirits and Ashley said that her wedding “turned out so much better than I could ever have imagined!”

That’s what it’s all about…not the dress, the flowers, the DJ or the location. Nothing matters but the fact that this couple has vowed to love, honor and cherish each other for the rest of their lives. No doubt they will!

Lindsey and Kyle’s Orlando wedding at Cross Creek Ranch

Normally I write a little blurb about a recent couple we had the honor of doing wedding photography for, but this time they did all the work for us, but more in a moment…

Lindsey (London) and Kyle Harris got married on October the 20th at the Cross Creek Country Ranch in Dover. This location is really beautiful and suited Lindsey and Kyle perfectly! I’m not a writer, just a photographer, blogs are seriously procrastinated tasks that I must eventually tackle. All I want to say is, we had a blast at this wedding! Everyone and everything was just perfect. That is a huge testament to Lindsey and Kyle, who are two really nice young people, surrounded by wonderful family and friends. We wish them a lifetime of love and happiness!

Here is a list of their vendors, all really great to work with. But before you go, we asked Lindsey and Kyle for a little quote we might put up on the blog. We got so much more! Here is what they had to say about us…

“When Kyle and I first met Charlene and Stan we both agreed, right away, there was no need to keep looking. During our engagement photo shoot we really got to know them and found out just how fun and quirky they are. Charlene doesn’t care what she has to do to get the perfect shot… whether it be laying in the dirt or standing upside down- she is going to make it happen! And, Stan has that eye, that knack, of knowing just where we need to be! The day of the wedding was perfect… Charlene and Stan proved that it doesn’t matter just how large a wedding party is, even one of 26! They portrayed exquisite professionalism and organization while making sure everyone had their picture taken. Truly blessed to have these photographs that we can cherish for years to come.”

Beautiful Orlando Wedding Photography at the Rosen Center

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Matthew and Philander Mitchell! We had a blast shooting their wedding on October 26th at the Rosen Center on International Drive. Matthew grew up in the same neighborhood as Stan, Lake Conway East, yet it took his Tampa bride to find us via The Knot. Funny how things work out. Now, the newlyweds have relocated to Atlanta and are hopefully taking advantage of this perfect snuggling weather! Many thanks to Shanae Hall, owner of Party Life Productions, for all of her help that day.
